The Review
Now I have to tell you about the dress I received to review. At first glance online, I loved it. But knew it wasn’t “me”. Gorgeous color (how can you go wrong with papaya?), fun slanted hemline, and awesome metal and rhinestone details on the front. What’s not to love? But I didn’t think I could pull it off, or have any occasion to wear it.
Until I visited with Ruffle Mint’s founder, Jenny, and she mentioned how you could “dress it down” with leggings and a jean jacket. Bingo! How fun would that be? THAT, I could do!
I don’t have many items like this in my wardrobe, but was excited to add something so different, to have on hand for a fun occasion. Or better yet – as an excuse to create a fun occasion to wear it!
Papaya Metal and Rhinestone Flutter Dress - my dress selection
I was very happy with this dress. It’s just as lovely as it was in the pictures. The material is very silky soft, and the color is vibrant. And I was pleasantly surprised to see a pair of matching spaghetti straps included, in case you’re not quite ready for the strapless thing.
The Owner’s Inspiration
I asked Jenny what her inspiration was in starting this new business. She explains, “I have a true passion for fashion and trends. I can look at a piece of clothing and know instantly what it would look good with, and how you could wear it differently to match your body type.
I have been approached by numerous people asking me to help them shop or to even be their personal shopper, I thought that opening my own online boutique would be a great way for me to help those people and feed my own fashion obsession.
Everything in my online boutique has been handpicked by me and are things that I would wear myself! My style is romantic, sophisticated and glamorous.”
They Keep Mixing It Up!
Something about Ruffle Mint that I love, is every time I visit the site (every couple of days or so!) there are new items that have been added. It keeps the experience fresh. And because it’s so affordable, I get excited about what I’ll find next!
I’ve already placed an additional personal order, after receiving my dress to review. And now that I know about that “add a jacket and leggings to a short dress” trick – you can bet I’ll be ordering some more of those cute options!
