Hi-Tec Sandals ~ V-Lite Sheba Thong II

Whether I’m at work, running around with my kids doing errands, going out to eat, or getting to play something fun outside – you will always find the same type of sandal on my foot during the summer months.

I prefer what I call active sandals, that are obviously comfortable but also have a decent sole and tread on them “just in case”.  You never know when you’ll get a chance for a spontaneous adventure!  I’m just never that girl who gets caught in the “Shoot!  I wish I had worn different shoes” predicament.

Although I’m not typically a thong wearer, I was looking forward to trying out Hi-Tec’s new V-Lite Sheba Thong II.  Here’s what I thought, and how they performed.

V-Lite Sheba Thong II – Sole & Footbed

The first thing I noticed when I lifted them out of the box?  Incredibly light!  This is the strategy of their new “V-Lite” line, and it definitely lives up to the claim.

Once I slipped them on, I was surprised at the feel of the footbed.  Very cushy, with just the right amount of molding.  “Holy cow, why didn’t I know about these before?”, I wondered.  The foot bed is definitely more comfortable then my previous, wear-them-daily sandals.

V-Lite Sheba Thong II – Design & Materials

I was pleasantly surprised that the thong between my toes does not present a problem.  The material and style of a thong can make a big difference in whether they bother you or not, and they’ve done a good job in this regard on the Sheba Thong design.  Typically I’m somewhat sensitive in this area, but I can wear these all day and not have an issue.

Overall, I would say high quality construction and materials.  Excellent tread, with a carbon rubber outsole for durability.  And the footbed is great – cute design, plus made of an anti-microbial cork mix so they won’t get funky, even after numerous warm weather adventures.

V-Lite Sheba Thong II – The Fit

Again, the light weight sole and sculpted footbed makes this a very comfortable sandal.  I typically wear a 9, and this size in the V-Lite Sheba Thong II just barely fit the size of my foot.   I wish they came in half sizes, but that is typical.  Sandals usually don’t offer half sizes since you have more “wiggle room” than with a closed shoe.  So I decided to keep them, and they have worked out fine.

V-Lite Sheba Thong II – Appearance

No one’s gonna argue – this is an attractive sandal.  They also come in brown, and while I’m usually pretty boring and conservative and choose brown or black when given the choice, I have to say I really love the gradient shades of grayish blue used on the straps.

Maybe I just need to get out more, but I found the combination of what this shoe brought together very unique, fun, & functional all at the same time.

  • Fashionable, cute shoe while still being rugged, with well rounded capabilities

What I didn’t love as much:

  • Runs just a touch small
