Magical Blogorail: Favorite Time to Visit Disney

July 20, 2012COMtnMom

Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Donna Kay and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

I’ve been to Disney World at various times throughout the year, but my family’s hands-down favorite time to go is:   January!

Here’s my case – let’s see if I can convince you?  As I see it, there are three distinct advantages to visiting Mickey in mid-to-late January:

  • Price
  • Weather
  • Crowds
Best Time Visit Disney in Winter Cloudy Pool Day
Even a cloudy Pool Day at Disney, is a good Pool Day!

Best Time to Visit Disney ~ Lower Cost

I wish we didn’t have to budget our Disney trips, but we definitely do.  Going during the Value Season and using the awesome special offers Disney runs, with the correspondingly lower price tag, is often the only way we can afford to go.

Remember the amazing “Buy 4, Get 3 Free” offer in the winter of 2009 – Disney’s answer to the tanking economy?  Ooooh yeah … how I wish upon a star that they’d bring back that sweet deal again!

Best Time to Visit Disney ~ Better Weather

As I mentioned, we are from a very dry part of the country.   We did try Disney World in September once, and were amazed at how much it affected our energy level and our enjoyment of the outdoor attractions.  Total humidity wusses, we are!

Ok, plus the black, mating Love Bugs floating around everywhere grossed me out.  Eww.

But for us, the Florida winters are just about perfect.  Those high 60s to low 70s temps are a downright balmy break for us.  If you live somewhere with a real winter like we have, getting away for a warm break in the middle of it is so wonderful!

Sure you may need to bring a light jacket along, and it may be a little overcast on your pool day … but you know kids.  That won’t stop them.

Princesses may need a sweater over their Princess (Night) Gown

Best Time to Visit Disney ~ Low Crowds

The Value Season just plain translates to least crowded time of the year.  This is huge in my book.  Fewer lines, for much shorter periods of time, at Disney World?!?  Sign me up for that any day … it’s the Disney Good Life, indeed!

And personally, I like a little breathing room when we’re at the parks.  I mean, I know it’s the Happiest Place on Earth and all, but rubbing hot, sweaty shoulders with strangers all day long can diminish the magical joy factor for me.

So for my family, these reasons amount to January Disney trips being a fantastic experience – and it’s my Favorite Time to Visit Disney!

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is A World View.

You can tell I am from the South!! I wouldn’t go near the pool in January. Our posts are polar opposites of each other, hot & balmy are everyday for me!! Great post!!

Well you and Donna Kay will never be on property at the same time. I agree about the Value Season, although we usually go early December if we have a choice… for all the same reasons.

I’ve never looked at early December, but am starting to hear good things about it! May have to check it out. 🙂

Our first-ever visit to WDW was in January and it forever spoiled us. Absolutely BEST time of year to go! Why we haven’t gone back in January since then is a mystery.

lol … I’m sure there are many delightful months to visit. But like you, our very first visit was in January as well, and you are right – it spoiled us, and we were hooked!
