Quick Relief for Sick Kids

BeKOOOL logoWith the changing of seasons to cooler temperatures, often comes flu bugs.  I like having an arsenal on hand, just in case I need some relief for sick kids.   Recently I was sent some sample of non-medicated soothing relief for fevers, and think it’s a pretty slick idea.  BeKOOOL makes soft gel sheets you can apply to a hot little forehead, for cooling relief that lasts up to 8 hours.

Tapping into my Old School tricks, I like to give my kids a cool washcloth for their forehead when they are sick.  They do find it very relieving, but of course the washcloth is wet and doesn’t stay in place long on a tossing child.

BeKOOOL non-messy sheets will stay with them, and seem like a great alternative.  It’s ok to use them in addition to medicine, and a packet of 2 sheets is easy to pack and take along when you travel.  I definitely plan to try them out the next time anyone in my household is sick.

    We’ve never had the flu before. For colds, I like hot showers even for my boys. Helps clear out some of the nasties especially in their noses.

    Once you have the flu, most treatments are just supportive – fluids, rest, etc. I recommend that everyone get vaccinated (unless immunocompromised) to drastically reduce the risk of catching influenza.

    I wish I knew a good remedy for the flu because I recently had it and it was awful. My suggestion is plenty of fluids and rest.

    My best remedy for the flu for my kids is giving them lots of rest, soda crackers, and keeping them hydrated. 🙂

    Once you get it, you are kind of in it for the long haul. I always recommend lots of rest, fluids, relaxing baths/hot showers, and of course soup 🙂

    I give my kids colloidal silver, and emergen-c to try to keep them from getting the flu. When they do I make sure they stay hydrated, & get plenty of rest!

    My first tip is proper hand washing to avoid the flu altogether. I have 3 children, one of whom with severe respiratory issues so getting the flu is very dangerous for her. I would make sure they stayed hydrated and rest.

    I recommend the prescription med for flu since it helps lessen the symptoms. For comfort, long hot baths with aromatic bath salts are helpful.
