Disney Wordless Wednesday ~ Favorite Disney View

Disney kids with Mater

Welcome to the fun Disney Wordless Wednesday photo hop!  This week's theme is "Your Favorite View". *o*    *o*    *o* What an interesting theme.  Is my favorite view *of* something at Disney, or would the view be looking *out from* something at Disney?  After some thought, I realized the obvious.  My favorite view at Disney is "viewing" my kids taking it all in! Anticipation. Wonder. Silliness. Laughter. And love. Ok, and also I really love this view... because it means I'm about to ride my favorite attraction!  :)   *o*    *o*    *o* Thanks to Deb at Focused on the Magic for hosting!  Click on the button below to see more great Disney photos from this week.   … [Read more...]

Disney’s “Million Dollar Arm” Opens Friday, 5/16 [Trailer]

Disney Million Dollar Arm

Disney's new movie "Million Dollar Arm" is slated to open in theatres this Friday, May 16th.  The film looks both engaging and heartwarming, and as a parent who appreciates PG-rated movies being produced, I definitely plan on my family seeing it. Based on a true story, the film premise is as follows: Sports agent JB Bernstein (Jon Hamm) finds that business has changed and things aren’t going well for his career. In a last ditch effort to save his livelihood he concocts a scheme to find baseball’s next great pitching ace. Hoping to find a young cricket pitcher he can turn into a major league baseball star, JB travels to India to produce a reality show competition called “The Million Dollar Arm.” With the help of cantankerous but eagle-eyed retired baseball scout Ray Poitevint (Alan Arkin), he discovers Dinesh (played by Madhur Mittal from “Slumdog Millionaire”) and Rinku (played by Suraj Sharma from “Life of Pi”), two 18-year-old boys who have no idea about playing baseball, … [Read more...]

Disney Pressed Penny Money Holders

Make Your Own Disney Pressed Penny Money Containers

Sprinkled throughout the Disney Parks are pressed penny machines, adored by children of all ages.  Each typically features 3 designs to choose from, often themed to the attraction or land they are near. And kids are drawn to them like moths to a flame. Disney Pressed Penny Machines ~ The 51 Cent Souvenir At first, we resisted.  There’s so much to see, and do, (and spend money on) at Disney… surely this tiny thing can’t be that big of deal?  After awhile it occurred to me, that the resulting pressed penny is actually a pretty neat souvenir. They’re also cheap.  And small.  Both good things on vacation. Most machines currently take 51 cents:  2 quarters and 1 *shiny!* penny.  (There are a few pressed quarter machines, which cost a little more, but they are more rare.) But let's face it, having your child pester you for change every time they spot a Disney pressed penny machine can be annoying... even on a vacation when anything goes!  So when I heard about this … [Read more...]

See BEARS Protect Our National Parks [Trailers]

Disneynature Bears fishing

Living in a Rocky Mountain state, my love of bears is expressed in multiple ways.  Everything from that mix of hope and fear that I will spot one while hiking, to my penchant for using bear designs in my Colorado home's lodge decor.  So when I saw this year's new Disneynature film to be released in celebration of Earth Day was "Bears"... I was a very happy camper! See BEARS Protect Our National Parks You've perhaps seen the TV commercials where they say:  "See Bears Protect our national parks".  Well here's the scoop on what they are talking about, and how when you see the movie affects whether you can participate in this great campaign. If you go to see the new movie Bears in theatres during opening week (April 18-24, 2014) - Disneynature, via the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, will make a contribution to the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, to protect wildlife and wild places across America’s national park system. So there's your … [Read more...]

DisneySide Party - Invitations, Food, Games, and More

You may have heard the buzz on social media this past month, regarding the #DisneySide Home Celebration Party campaign. Disney social media marketers recently packaged up some fun party supplies and tidbits, placed them all in a lovely American Tourister carry-on sized spinner bag (the official luggage of Disney), and shipped them out to around 1,000 families to host their own #DisneySide parties at home. And if you'd like to join in the fun, Disney put together an website chock full of inspirational ideas for anyone interested in hosting their own Disney Side Celebration. As I dug into the party planning details these past couple of weeks, I found myself chuckling and thinking, "I can't believe I haven't thrown a Disney-themed party before?!"   We rounded up some kiddos, and had a great #DisneySide costume party last weekend.   Here are some highlights - including our Disney invitations, games, decorations, party favors, and food.  A very good time was had by … [Read more...]
