Magical Blogorail ~ Best Disney Photo Spots

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Red. Enjoy the ride as we share with you our favorite Disney photo spots. I'd be willing to wager that everyone who's ever visited Disney World has a photograph of themselves in front Cinderella's Castle.  Classic, Happiest-Place-On-Earth shot! And you know when you spot a Disney PhotoPass photographer... you've just received a hint as to a good place to have your picture taken. But in addition to that, there are an endless number of great locations to take Disney photos.  I'm nothing even closely resembling a talented photographer, but here are some of my favorite Disney photo spots. Swiss Family Treehouse There are numerous spots along the way in the walk-through Swiss Family Treehouse to stop and take a great picture.  It's such an immersive attraction, plus has the benefit of outside natural light.  You can easily frame your photo nicely, and add a neat backdrop to your shot. Unique Views of the Castle It could … [Read more...]

Disney Wordless Wednesday ~ Impressions de France

This week's Disney Wordless Wednesday theme:  The Letter "I" *o*     *o*     *o* If you found yourself visiting EPCOT with a limited amount of time, the Impressions de France attraction would be at the top of my recommendation list for you. This charming film is shown on a 200 degree screen in EPCOT World Showcase's France, lasts a little less than 20 minutes, and portrays all that I dream romantic Europe to be.  It is well worth a visit. From the opening bars of the music, and first breathtaking view of French countrysides and castles... it leaves you transported and transfixed!  The soundtrack beautifully pieces together works from French composers Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Paul Dukas - and is the perfect thrilling compliment to your enchanting virtual visit to France. Race alongside French bicyclists, glide along on a Venice gondola, ski through the scenic French Alps, fantasize about life in one of the real Old World castles displayed, and take a dramatic … [Read more...]

Magical Blogorail: Disney Refurbishment Wish List

Welcome to those of you joining me from Focused On The Magic and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. I've just got one thing on my Disney Refurbishment Wish List, but it's a biggie:  EPCOT's Imagination Pavilion.   When I was a kid, we first visited EPCOT [Center] in 1983.  Not having traveled abroad, the World Showcase blew my mind ... whisking me away on a sophisticated journey through other cultures and realistic, faraway places. But it was the Journey Into Imagination Pavilion that stole my heart.  The smiles started with the leap frog fountains and upside down waterfall out front, the likes of which this tween-aged girl raised in South Dakota had never seen before. Moving to the Pavilion's interior, our favorite was ImageWorks - dubbed "the creative playground of the future".  That's actually what I called it for years, and was how I described it excitedly to others after we returned home from our trip. I'm … [Read more...]

EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth at Night

Have you had the pleasure of getting your picture taken after dark in front of EPCOT's Spaceship Earth?  Isn't it gorgeous?  Next time you get this chance, be sure to have a Disney PhotoPass photographer grab this shot for you ... he'll even use your own camera. This is one of my favorite Disney vacation photos, probably because it captures the memory of the only Date Night my husband and I have ever had at Disney World. Compliments of Nanna and Grandpa accompanying us on that particular trip.  Thanks again for this great memory, mom!  ;)   *o*     *o*     *o* I'll be using this as a Disney blog post entry for a contest being held by BodyLogicMD through September - with a 2 night/3 day at Disney World prize.  :) … [Read more...]

Disney Wordless Wednesday ~ The Outpost in EPCOT

This week's Disney Wordless Wednesday theme is:  Brought to You by the Disney Letter "D" *o*     *o*     *o* One rainy day in EPCOT, we rented a stroller for our weary 5 year old and decided to take a more relaxed pace, and just "experience" a bit. If you work your way around EPCOT's World Showcase by heading left (clockwise), you'll pass by a rather large, country-less gap - between China and Germany.  This area is known as The Outpost.  It was originally intended to be a place holder for a future, multiple country representation called Equatorial Africa. Hence, brought to you by the Disney Letter "D" - it's drums!  On that particular rainy day ... this was a definite highlight for my daughter. Ok, and for my husband.  (He's Got The Beat...) Ok, and for me.  It was pretty fun. The Outback includes this fun, play-it-yourself African Drum area for young and old alike to enjoy.  But you will also find a nice seating area, a refreshment stand, and a few souvenir shops offering … [Read more...]

Magical Blogorail: Disney Smells We Love (or Loathe)

Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Donna Kay and those of you just hopping aboard.  I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail. Our last trip to Disney World was in September.  During this delightful-as-always vacation, we also got to experience the hottest, muggiest weather of any of our Disney trips thus far!  Hence, we found ourselves constantly on the lookout for cool down breaks and options. One morning at Epcot, this situation collided with the amazing smell of waffle cones being hand-made wafting through the air.  It stopped us in our tracks! Epcot's Fountain View Ice Cream shop is worth the stop.  Here waffle cones (or bowls) are made fresh on an iron, then hand-dipped and made ready to hold your yummy Edy's ice cream. They've got other unique and tempting options, like the handmade ice cream sandwich, made with two chocolate chip cookies.  But after smelling the waffle cones, we were hooked.  The ordering decision had been made for us, if you will. I … [Read more...]

Disney Wordless Wednesday

This week's theme:  Your Favorite May Calendar Shot *o*     *o*     *o* Ahhh... Italia!  Someday, the real Italy is my dream destination.  But for now, I love the Italy Pavilion at EPCOTs World Showcase.  I consider it a little preview, and it helps tide me over. Now the only question is, do we go with Photo #1 or #2 for the calendar? … [Read more...]

Disney Wordless Wednesday

This week's theme:  Flowers and Gardens *o*     *o*     *o* At first I thought, "I don't have any pictures of flowers or gardens... I never think to take pictures of that kind of thing when we're at Disney".  And then I remembered one of the photo shoot sessions when we let our (at the time just turned 5) daughter use the digital camera and take some shots.  I love her perspective.  And as a child, she DID think to stop and take pictures of the flowers along the way.   I think there may be a life lesson in there somewhere.  These were all taken  by her at EPCOT, in the World Showcase. … [Read more...]

Disney Wordless Wednesday

This week's theme:  Your March Calendar Shot! One of my all time favorite pictures.  My just turned 5 year old staged this shot herself.   (Baby Dumbo made alot of the snaps on that trip! ) You gotta love the raincoat-over-princess-nightgown garb.  *o*     *o*     *o*Thanks to Deb at FocusedOnTheMagic for hosting this weekly Disney photo hop!  Click the button below for more great Disney shots this week. … [Read more...]

Disney Wordless Wednesday ~ EPCOT Kids Fountain

This week's theme:  Water, water everywhere! *o*     *o*     *o* Although I suspect many will post Disney cruise shots this week, to correspond with the water theme ... I tried to get over my self pity long enough (no cruises for us, yet!) to muster up some other wet Disney scenario to use. When it's a hot and muggy day in EPCOT, a stop at the kids water fountain play area is a great idea! Located just outside Innovations East, on walkway to Test Track. … [Read more...]
