Whether it's Rita's Italian Ice all-natural flavor of the day, or another tasty flavor, you will love this delicious and refreshing treat.  They now even serve it in a four-section "Ice Flights" tray, if you'd like to select four yummy flavors. My family and I have tracked down and visited Rita's Ice locations from California to Colorado.  So after sampling more of the menu than I care to admit, what's this #RitasIceBlogger absolute favorite treat that I'd recommend to you? Visit Rita’s Italian Ice in July & Support Alex’s Lemonade Stand

Last month my family had the pleasure of visiting a Rita’s Italian Ice for the first time.  We couldn’t decide on the most delicious item offered.  Is it the decadently creamy frozen custard?  Or the refreshing burst of icy fruit flavor in the smooth Italian Ice? Actually, I think the best thing on the menu is something that combines both:  the Gelati.  :) During the month of July, there’s an additional reason to visit Rita’s Italian Ice. Rita’s Hosts a “Wall Of Hope” Now through July 24th, Rita’s Italian Ice will be fundraising for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).  This non-profit organization is dedicated to finding a cure for all childhood cancers.  The foundation has already raised more than $75 million, used toward funding over 375 research projects nationally. When you visit your local Rita’s Italian Ice location during the month of July, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a paper lemon for $1.  Then personalize your lemon, and post it on the … [Read more...]

Perfect Summer Treat ~ Rita’s All-Natural Italian Ice

A couple of months ago, I received a very exciting email.  Would I like to be a #RitasIceBlogger during this upcoming year?  Why yes... I'd love to! Although we do not have any Rita's Italian Ice locations in my semi-remote Western Colorado town, I knew we could seek them out during our travels.  So when we headed to California a week ago on a family vacation road trip, I made sure to grab a couple of my gift cards so we could finally check this stuff out. The problem? It's amazing. Now I'm addicted. And I'm back home with no access to Rita's Italian Ice.  Waaaah!! Rita's All-Natural Italian Ice If it's new to you (as it was to me), Rita's Italian ice is: Trans-fat free Gluten free Made with real fruit Served extremely fresh (within 36 hours of mixing), and is Much smoother than a traditional icee It's cool and refreshing, and absolutely delicious.  Since I'm a big fan of ice cream, and was never a kid to go in much for Slurpees... Easy Meals With Progresso Recipe Starters – Coupon

On most nights we cook dinner at home.  And at my house, my husband (bless his heart) and I share this load.  We both find coming up with the idea of what to prepare to be the most challenging part.  I'm always on the lookout for easy ideas for him to use on his cooking nights. It was for this reason that I signed up for the Progresso Recipe Starter promotion.  They sounded tasty and easy to use, so we wanted to give them a shot.  I was sent a gift pack from Progresso, which included two of their new recipe starter sauces.  Their new line of sauces comes in five flavors. Progresso Recipe Starters - The 5 Flavors Progresso Recipe Starters five flavors were inspired by the five "Mother" Sauces that form the basis of classical French cooking:  Béchamel, Velouté, Tomato, Espagnole and Hollandaise. The five varieties are: Creamy Parmesan Basil: This creamy, full-bodied and indulgent sauce that was inspired by alfredo and creamy pesto sauces can be used to make dishes such as … [Read more...]

Camping Recipe ~ Roasted Rolo Marshmallows

The fact that I consider this a recipe tells you a few things about both my penchant for sweets, and my shaky cooking-while-camping skills.  (I know, I need to read A Little Campy more often...) However, these are definitely good enough to call a "recipe"! If you haven’t given Roasted Rolo Marshmallows a try yet, I strongly encourage you to do so during your next campfire. I spotted this idea on Pinterest, and was eager to make my own. These are incredibly tasty, and a fun variation on the traditional roasted marshmallows or s’mores. Rolo candies now come in “mini” size.  They are easy to find in a bag – I grabbed ours near the gum and mints, at the Walmart checkout counter. Some outdoor-lovin’ genius took this to the next level with the thought, “Hey, what if I melted these all gooey over a fire?  Perhaps encased in a toasted marshmallow?”  Genius, I tell you. Recipe:  Roasted Rolo Marshmallows The first go round, we tried the purist form:  a Rolo mini roasted inside a … [Read more...]

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies ~ Ultimate Easy Recipe

This week I'm joining my Ambitious-Cookie-Making blogger friend Stephanie, of The Cookie A Day Challenge, in her new weekly Cookie Blog Hop.  Hopefully she doesn't kick me off the linky list as soon as she catches wind of the baking blasphemy to follow... I love to bake, especially with my 7 year old daughter, who is quite the measuring whiz.  And when it comes to baked goods, I usually prefer to make things from scratch. But after 3 or 4 attempts at making Peanut Butter Blossoms (peanut butter cookie with a Hershey's kiss in the middle), using various cookie recipes, I was discouraged that they didn't taste as good as some I had tried. I wanted cookie perfection.  Really, the peanut butter and chocolate combination demands it.  My search continued. A Time and a Place for a Cookie Mix Until, as a new blogger last year, I participated in a "Cookie Exchange" promotion by Hershey's.  One set of fancy, pre-printed pack of recipe cards with Hershey's creations later ... … [Read more...]
