GCap™ Prevents Kid Spills for On-The-Go Moms [Giveaway]

Here's a momprenuer and product you can really get behind.  A tiny little thing that's easy to take along with you, is reusable, and retails for only $6.  It's called the GCap™, and the best part is:  it can end messy spills for your toddler or small child, no matter where your adventures take you. The GCap™ comes in a small carrying case, is BPA-free, and is stretchable enough to fit over any virtually any bottle size.  My 5 year old son tested his out around the house on everything from water bottles, to Aspire sports drinks, to milk containers. Just pop a straw in the middle, and even if the container tips... it won't spill.  At first, it was a little work pushing the straw through the x-cut spot for it.  But I expect with use, this looses up a little. Dishwasher safe, and easy to rinse clean, I think this is a great product for families and moms on the go.  My kids are milk drinkers (one's good about drinking white milk, the other insists on chocolate).  Whether we are … [Read more...]

Top Tips to Keep Your Dog Safe on New Year’s Eve [Giveaway, Ended 12/30]

Our beloved family dog, Daisy, is about as easy going as a dog can get.  I've had dogs who escape, dogs who run away if not on a leash, and dogs who got very nervous and upset at disruptions or loud noises such as fireworks.  So although Daisy doesn't have any of those quirks... I certainly know they can be a challenge for dog owners to deal with.  And no matter what your pet's disposition, we all want to keep our pets safe. It's for that reason I was interested in sharing the following sponsored tips on dog safety on New Year's Eve.  It'a a time of year when celebrations may become a problem or even danger to your family pet. Hopefully you find these useful, and be sure to check out the gift card giveaway at the end! *o*     *o*     *o* New Year’s Eve is a night to celebrate, let loose, and de-stress after the holidays. Ella’s Wool Keeps Outdoor Kids Warmer

When a mom from Norway gives you a tip on how they keep their kids warm in winter, so they can still have fun playing outside - you listen.  Because you know she knows what she's talking about.  That's why I was so intrigued with the story behind Ella's Wool.  Founder Vibeke K Johansen wanted to share this solution with all parents, so their children can play outside year-round and stay warm, too. That solution is wool.  The most natural, warm, soft and reliable thing you can dress your kid in when it’s cold.  A single, thin layer of super soft merino wool under your kids’ clothes can make all the difference.   Ella's Wool offers a quality line of onsies, undershirts, long johns and more for young children. Ella's Wool Tubes An exciting new addition to the Ella's Wool lineup is a type of soft pants called Tubes.  Tubes are thick, unisex wool rib-knit pants that come in a nice size-adaptable design.  Becca told me that every child in Norway has at least two pairs of Tubes.  … [Read more...]

Quick Relief for Sick Kids [Giveaway, Ended 11/23]

With the changing of seasons to cooler temperatures, often comes flu bugs.  I like having an arsenal on hand, just in case I need some relief for sick kids.   Recently I was sent some sample of non-medicated soothing relief for fevers, and think it's a pretty slick idea.  BeKOOOL makes soft gel sheets you can apply to a hot little forehead, for cooling relief that lasts up to 8 hours. Tapping into my Old School tricks, I like to give my kids a cool washcloth for their forehead when they are sick.  They do find it very relieving, but of course the washcloth is wet and doesn't stay in place long on a tossing child. BeKOOOL non-messy sheets will stay with them, and seem like a great alternative.  It's ok to use them in addition to medicine, and a packet of 2 sheets is easy to pack and take along when you travel.  I definitely plan to try them out the next time anyone in my household is sick. BeKOOOL Relief for Sick Kids ~ Giveaway Pack BeKOOL offered to send one of my winning … [Read more...]

Happy Legs by VIM & VIGR [Giveaway, Ended 10/30]

If you haven't tried compression socks since your last pregnancy... it's time to get them another shot, girlfriend!  And a great place to start when looking for some compression socks with cute designs and excellent quality is VIM & VIGR. Benefits of Compression Socks Compression socks and leg sleeves are taking the fitness world by storm lately, and with good reason.  Billed as a running recovery tool, some people choose to wear them during long runs... others, afterwards.  The key is that they increase circulation, which helps get the blood flowing in your feet and lower legs and aids in disbursement of that post-exercise lactic acid in your muscles.  This is a much lovelier alternative than having lactic acid build up and incapacitate you from walking normally the next day after a solid run. Are the Benefits of Compression Socks scientific?  No idea.  I'm not a scientist.  But in my personal experience I find the sensation of compression very soothing to my feet and calves, … [Read more...]
