Teaching Kids Empathy and Love, Not Hate

  I want my kids to grow up to be exemplary human beings.  People who think of others, not just themselves.  People who take a stand for what it right, and make an effort to make society a better place.  Instilling empathy in them is a great foundation, a human emotion that will drive beneficial actions throughout their lives. So how do we as parents teach something like empathy?  As is true of so many areas of parenting, it’s an ongoing process. As in, if I remind my kindergarten son to put his dirty socks in the clothes hamper, day….after day…. after day… someday it will finally click.  (At least that’s my dream.) Finding Dory Trailer Released!

After a very long wait, next summer marks the return of some beloved Pixar characters!  The sequel to the 2003 Academy Award winner Finding Nemo, the upcoming Finding Dory will open in theatres June 17, 2016.  This family film reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”) and produced by Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), the film features the voice talents of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass ~ Teaser Trailer

What an adventure this new Disney film promises to be!  The Mad Hatter is in grave danger, and Alice returns to Underland to save him.  Today Disney released the new teaser trailer for the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass. Although it's got that Tim Burton feel to it (a draw for some, but it's not my cup of tea), this definitely peaked my interested enough to want to see the movie! The scoop... I am a child of the 80's.  A bonafide, original Star Wars lover.  And as such, I cannot adequately express how excited I am about the new STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS movie being released in theatres this December 17, 2015.  And that the film stars the original Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leah - Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher!  The new cast member look amazing, too. DreamWorks BRIDGE OF SPIES in Theatres

A Look at Marvel’s ANT-MAN ~ In Theatres This Friday

If you are a fan of Marvel Cinema, the wait for ANT-MAN is almost over!  ANT-MAN will be opening in theatres this Friday, July 17th.  This new Disney movie looks to deliver humor, action, adventure, and of course.... evil bad guys! A little about the film:  The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.”   In this cinematic version, master thief Scott Lang is the present-day Ant-Man. STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Behind the Scenes Trailer

Disney’s THE FINEST HOURS Trailer & Poster

Disney Movie's upcoming film THE FINEST HOURS  is an extraordinary true story of the greatest small boat rescue in Coast Guard history.    The story takes place in 1952, during a massive nor’easter that struck New England, pummeling towns along the Eastern seaboard and wreaking havoc on the ships caught in its deadly path. A heroic action-thriller, this film will transport audiences to the heart of the action, creating a fully-immersive cinematic experience on an epic scale. Exciting stuff! See Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom for Earth Day
