Take It All With You in the Go-To Mom SCOTTeVEST Sterling Jacket

In the world of travel vests, SCOTTeVEST is king.  I'd heard of them for years, and longed to have one of these nifty, multi pocketed, ideal-for-travel vests.  Available in many great styles, and now made with special RFID blocking pockets for your passport and credit cards - SCOTTeVEST jackets and vests are a highly functional piece of travel gear. So when they approached me with the idea of wearing one of their jackets as a  "Mom Utility Belt"... it gave me a chuckle.  This clever approach makes sense.  Why not load your jacket up with all the mom essentials you typically need, and have it on hand - ready to grab and go at a moment's notice? I selected a Sterling Jacket because of it's removable sleeves, and resulting ability to be worn pretty much year round.  It can be used as a warm jacket, or worn as just a basic vest.  After testing it out for a few weeks, here's what I found. SCOTTeVEST Sterling Jacket Review Although there are some awesome specialty vest designs, … [Read more...]

The Ultimate Bag for Your Disney Trip

We have accumulated quite a selection of luggage around our house.  Larger checked bag size, carry-on size, "tween" size, and little tykes size.  We've got your soft sides, and your hard sides.  There are pros and cons to each, of course.  But when your big family vacation each year typically means heading to Disney World, it's hard to beat the fun and excitement of using the ultimate bag for your Disney trip:  hardside spinner bags from the American Tourister Disney Collection. American Tourister Disney Collection The first thing I loved about the American Tourister Disney Collection is the classic Minnie and Mickey designs.  Perhaps you're a discreet Disney fan?  One who loves the idea of having a bag with distinct markings, that you can easily identify and grab off of the airport baggage claim belt.  Subtlely celebrating your #DisneySide, without drawing too much attention to yourself. GCap™ Prevents Kid Spills for On-The-Go Moms [Giveaway, Ended 2/16]

Here's a momprenuer and product you can really get behind.  A tiny little thing that's easy to take along with you, is reusable, and retails for only $6.  It's called the GCap™, and the best part is:  it can end messy spills for your toddler or small child, no matter where your adventures take you. The GCap™ comes in a small carrying case, is BPA-free, and is stretchable enough to fit over any virtually any bottle size.  My 5 year old son tested his out around the house on everything from water bottles, to Aspire sports drinks, to milk containers. Just pop a straw in the middle, and even if the container tips... it won't spill.  At first, it was a little work pushing the straw through the x-cut spot for it.  But I expect with use, this looses up a little. Dishwasher safe, and easy to rinse clean, I think this is a great product for families and moms on the go.  My kids are milk drinkers (one's good about drinking white milk, the other insists on chocolate).  Whether we are … [Read more...]

Happy Legs by VIM & VIGR [Giveaway, Ended 10/30]

If you haven't tried compression socks since your last pregnancy... it's time to get them another shot, girlfriend!  And a great place to start when looking for some compression socks with cute designs and excellent quality is VIM & VIGR. Benefits of Compression Socks Compression socks and leg sleeves are taking the fitness world by storm lately, and with good reason.  Billed as a running recovery tool, some people choose to wear them during long runs... others, afterwards.  The key is that they increase circulation, which helps get the blood flowing in your feet and lower legs and aids in disbursement of that post-exercise lactic acid in your muscles.  This is a much lovelier alternative than having lactic acid build up and incapacitate you from walking normally the next day after a solid run. Are the Benefits of Compression Socks scientific?  No idea.  I'm not a scientist.  But in my personal experience I find the sensation of compression very soothing to my feet and calves, … [Read more...]

Sol Republic Wireless Sound Review

Sol Republic is a relatively young, and definitely up-and-coming, company that's dedicated to "enhancing people’s lives through better-sounding headphones and accessories."  They are music lovers, which is a great place to start.  And they offer a variety of cool looking and great sounding headphone and speaker options. I've recently tried out two Sol Republic wireless sound products, and was very pleased:  Tracks Air Wireless Headphones, and the Punk Wireless Speaker. Sol Republic ~ Tracks Air Wireless Headphones I use ear buds a lot, but have a love hate relationship with them.  I love to hear my music.  I hate ear buds that constantly - and I mean constantly - fall out of my ear.  Annoying, and a very sad lack of bass.  What ever happened to the good old fashioned REAL headphones, like I used to borrow from my parents, as a kid in the 80's? What happened to them is that Sol Republic took them, morphed them into some eye catching, comfortable and perfectly padded … [Read more...]
