Why We Keep Returning to Walt Disney World

This fun travel-themed week just wouldn't be complete without mention of Disney, would it?  So for a happy conclusion to Travel Week Extravaganza, please welcome Cheryl of Kids On a Plane, as she shares with us her family's passion for returning to Disney World. *o*     *o*     *o* Why We Keep Returning to Walt Disney World Most people who know me in real life, know that I’m a Disney fanatic. I grew up watching many of the movies (some of which I have on VHS, DVD and now BluRay –they should stop coming out with new formats because it’s really expensive to keep rebuying the same movie!) and visited Walt Disney World many times with my family. Disney has played a big part in my life and still does today now that I have children of my own. I’m currently planning my family’s first Disney Cruise as our family’s 3rd trip in 4 years (if you’re just talking about me then it will be my 12th or 13th – I’ve lost count). Friends always ask “Isn’t Disney just for kids? Why do you keep … [Read more...]

Stonewear Designs Womens Travel Wear [Giveaway, Ended 11/7]

As a Grassroots Ambassador for Stonewear Designs, you've likely heard me talk about this women's active clothing company from Colorado.  One of the things I love about their clothing, is that because of the soft, wrinkle free fabrics with a bit of stretch and comfortable designs - not only do they make great active wear... they also translate nicely for travel wear. On my recent two day trip to a Coca-Cola Blogging Conference, the 21 bloggers in attendance were told to dress "casual chic".  I would be taking a carry on bag only, so would need to include the least number of clothing items possible. Well, let's see.  If I wear Stonewear Designs pants or capris each day of the conference, I'll be comfortable all day, and can come back to the hotel and also wear them for comfy, relaxing and lounging time!  Sounds perfect to me. Here's what I brought along on my trip: Stonewear Slit Crop Pant The Stonewear Slit Crop Pant is my favorite, because of the perfect (not too fitted) … [Read more...]

Can’t I Just Book It Myself?

Do you use a travel agent, or plan your trips yourself?  I thought for Travel Week Extravaganza, we should have a travel coordinator weigh in on this issue. Please welcome my guest author today, Erin Sforza of MouseEarVacations.com® and CruisingCo.com®, as she fills us in on the benefits of using a travel agency. *o*     *o*     *o* Can’t I Just Book It Myself? For years I was my family’s unofficial travel agent. They would come to me for advice, especially about Walt Disney World, and at times, I would help them book their entire trip step by step and even put together itineraries that they could take to keep track of it all. When I realized it was something that I really enjoyed doing and made it official, suddenly family and friends had all sorts of questions and the most common one was: “But couldn’t I just book this all myself?” It was a question that I wasn’t really prepared to answer at first, by quickly figured out several reasons why a travel agent can be … [Read more...]

Lug Travel Wallet and Cosmetic Case [Giveaway, Ended 11/7]

I’m excited to tell you about this great bag and travel accessories company called Lug.  I found them online, and absolutely loved their site and the fantastic range of travel products which they offer.  They offer a number of “smart solutions” that work nicely for both travel and other areas of a busy life, and have been featured in O Magazine for their Cartwheel Fitness/Workout Bag. Initial overall impression of Lug’s product line?  Colorful and fun! I reviewed two great travel accessories from them, which were of interest to me.  I’ll be honest, when I opened the box with these two items my first thought was, “I thought the wallet would be smaller, and the cosmetic case would be bigger?”  I was surprised, and a little puzzled. I’ve now had the chance to actually use them on a recent trip (to the fun Coca-Cola blogging conference).  So allow me to tell you a little about what I thought of each. Lug Tango Travel Wallet If you’re the indecisive sort, I’ll warn you … [Read more...]

Voted Circle of Moms - Top 25 Travel Blogs by Parents in 2011, today Lisa is sharing some excellent advice with us on the "Why's, How's, and Where's" of traveling with your kids. *o*     *o*     *o* For as long as I can remember I have had an insatiable wanderlust driving me to explore the world.  I was an avid reader from a young age and I suspect that reading about faraway places is what fueled my desire to travel the world and see it all for myself. I didn’t have the opportunity to travel until I was an adult but once I had a taste of it I couldn't stop - not even after I became a mother.  I have itchy feet and I am simply incapable of staying home. When we return from a trip, I'm generally online planning another before the suitcases are unpacked, and definitely before the laundry is caught … [Read more...]

Mary, travel blogger at The World Is a Book, and her husband take their two young kids all over the world. Her blog is truly a delight, and is a feast for both the eyes and the wanderlusting soul. She honored me by writing this post for my Travel Week Extravaganza.  A true cruising veteran, let her walk you through some of the reasons why it's their favorite type of vacation... *o*     *o*     *o* Despite its increasing popularity, there are still a few misconceptions about cruising.  It may not be for everyone but I’ve always told friends and family - just try it once.  It’s one of our favorite ways to travel and spend our vacation.  We are going on our 12th cruise next month, 11 of them with kids.  My almost 10-year-old daughter went on her first cruise at 6-months-old to Alaska and she still loves it. There are many reasons why we cruise and why cruising is also becoming more popular as a family travel option. 1.)  Reason Cruising Is For Families :  Onboard … [Read more...]
