10 Tips for Helping Your Child Live a Healthy Life

Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s, we had fewer screens and safer environments to play outside.  Since then, obesity among U.S. children has tripled.  In honor of September being Fruit & Veggies More Matters® month, here are some quick tips to help your kids on the right path to healthy living. In addition to eating fruits and vegetables daily as part of a balanced diet, there are many other ways parents can help their children adopt healthy habits.  I'm sure you know most of these... but it's helpful sometimes for an overview and reminder. My family is trapped in a vicious cycle.  Going on a month of sickness now, we've been sharing (and apparently re-sharing) flu and cold germs amongst ourselves.  It's frustrating to say the least.  I feel like we've just spent the first 1/3 of winter at home, coughing and feeling generally miserable. 6 Tips for Staying Healthy In Winter

This season my family and I had dodged the sickness bullet thusfar, until my kids came down with a cold the past week.  Those are pretty manageable, so if that's the worst we see I'll be very grateful.  Gratitude aside, there are steps you can take to help minimize the sickness in your household this winter.  Always good to have a reminder this time of year, so take a look at these tips for staying healthy in winter.
