Awesome RC Gifts Your Kids Will Love
My 10 year old son is currently going through an RC (remote control) toy craze! After begging for a remote control car for weeks, we got the opportunity to test out a few of these awesome RC gifts mentioned below. They’ve been a great COVID stay-at-home boredom buster, and a welcome break from staring at screens.
Remote control toys typically include rechargeable battery packs, so there’s no extra expense for batteries incurred. Although he had been wanting an RC car, we found a surprising and unique RC option that he loved even more. These RC gifts are all from the toy makers at SGILE, are reasonably priced, and are available on Amazon.
SGILE RC Dinosaur Robot Toy
I’ll just kick things off with my son’s #1 absolute favorite! It’s his top recommendation, if you are looking for a toy for a gradeschool aged child: the AGILE RC Dinosaur Robot. This was larger than we expected, and is an impressive and fun toy. It looks even cooler in person that in the photos.
The remote control has many options, so it’s probably suitable for an older child (ages 9 and up). The RC dinosaur moves smoothly, and has a funny little shimmy he performs while smoothly swishing his robo tail from side to side. The missiles launched from his back do not go very far, but are a fun feature to play with. I think the function my family enjoys the most is when the dino plays music and breaks out in a techno dance. This is a great toy that provides lots of engaging, non-screen entertainment.
SGILE RC Drift Racing Car
The SGILE RC racing car is a great base model remote control car, especially for a first time owner. My son thinks the controls are easy to use, and would be an excellent choice to learn how to drive an RC car. It navigates well, and can handle ramps and bumps well with it’s low profile and all terrain tires.
Speedy, too! Although it doesn’t quite provide the same level of handling as more expensive RC race cars… it’s pretty darn fast, and loads of fun to drive. Nice, standard size that can handle both smooth concrete as well as slightly bumpy terrain (like gravel and dirt).
SGILE RC Stunt Car
The SGILE RC stunt car gets bonus points for being unique from the typical RC car! It’s unpredictable movements as it bounces into obstacles, then launches itself in a new direction, make it exciting to drive. It’s hard to control, though, and my son thinks it may be frustrating for younger drivers. He likes this stunt model, but prefers the RC drift racing car.
However, if you are looking for a gift that’s something outside the ordinary, baja-style remote control car, the RC stunt car may be just the ticket. It is durable, can move in all directions, can do extreme 360-degree tumbling spins, and can also flip over and continue to run on either side.
SGILE Robot Dog
Here’s a fun alternative to the robot dinosaur that would work well for a younger child… the SGILE Robot Dog! We did not try this model out personally, but it looks like it has some fun features. This RC remote control dog will respond to your commands, and can walk, bark, wink, sing, and dance. Includes LED lights, and the ability to control volume (an important feature to parents, that last bit).
Lots of cool options here for youngsters to play with their very own robot dog!
SGILE RC Programmable Robot
Get kids interested in coding with the SGILE RC Programmable Robot. Set your robot to “patrol” and let him roam around exploring, avoiding obstacles along the way. He can walk, sing, and even dance. The RC Robot can run for 60 minutes on a single charge and comes with a controller, but also senses gestures.
I think the coolest feature is the programming option. With the one-button programming function, kids can demonstrate a set of actions that they enter through the remote control, and can also input up to 50 motion commands. Great use of kids imagination, and another excellent screen-free toy for engaging your child.
