Moose mama and baby

Baby Moose at Play

September 4, 2012COMtnMom

My coworker just returned from her first visit to Rocky Mountain National Park, in Colorado.  She said they got an early start one morning, and caught this precious and rare sight – a mama moose and her baby!

Moose mama and baby

This is one of my favorite animals to see in the Wild.  And it reminded me of a wonderful video clip I had seen before, of twin baby moose caught playing in an Alaskan backyard.  So I searched for it and embedded it below, to share with you.  You’ve maybe seen it before, but it’s worth watching again and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

When I showed this clip to my sweet baby boy, towards the end he leaned in and kissed my laptop screen.  That’s exactly how it makes me feel, too.

Has anyone seen a moose lately?  Do tell!  🙂

That was a beautiful start to my morning…..especially to picture the love of that little guy kissing the screen. That’s how a ‘window into the wild’ touches us all. Thanks for sharing!!

Yep, it was pretty precious. Even a little toddler can sense how special animals are. 🙂

We saw a moose on the side of the road our 2nd day in Newfoundland earlier this month. We were on our way to a cruise of Witless Bay and Emma was telling someone on the boat that we had seen a moose on the way there and he couldn’t believe it. Said that he had been living in Newfoundland for a year and a half and still hadn’t seen one and it had only taken us a day and a half to encounter one.

That’s awesome! So interesting … you got me curious so I had to google “moose in Newfoundland” 🙂 It said they have the most dense moose population in North America!

I think I need to visit. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Lisa

Wow! My husband just returned from a camping trip in RMNP and saw a few moose. This is one animal I’ve never seen in the wild and would love to. From a safe distance, of course. They are majestic.

      I agree 🙂

I actually did see a small group out “in the wild” while hiking one time – a small group of cows, with one huge bull. It was in Poudre Valley (near Ft. Collins). And the trail went right between the Big Guy and his ladies! It was kindof scary – we came up on them without realizing, and were too close. Didn’t want to walk between them. Ended up waiting for 1/2 hour, then just heading out cross country, through very deep snow, to try and go around! Adventure!! 🙂

aww, that’s so cool! I really want to see moose! We went hiking in RMNP a couple of years ago on a trail near where some had been hanging out, but we didn’t see them. 🙁 I did get to see my first bears, though, so that partially made up for it. 🙂

I know, I don’t know why it’s so excited to see them… but it sure is!

I just checked out your blog, and absolutely loved all the baby fox pictures. That’s so awesome you get to see/watch them regularly, and even get to know their personalities. 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!
