Colorado Aromatics Natural Skin Care
Start with all natural, plant-based ingredients grown on a farm in Colorado. Add in well-studied, fact-based science and a desire to create skin care that is particularly formulated for the outdoor lifestyle and repairing damage caused by the environment. And you’ve got a wonderful natural skin care line of products from Colorado Aromatics.
The “farm-to-skin” movement was new to me. I love Colorado Aromatics’ idea of tapping into traditional herbal remedies, and combining them with cosmetic science to achieve healthy, vibrant skin.
In part, Dr. Cindy Jones, CEO and Founder of Colorado Aromatics focused on inflammation and oxidation of the skin cells – two key processes that accelerate the aging process. To help combat these signs of aging and skin damage, especially for those who spend a lot of time outdoors, or live in high altitudes, Dr. Jones has designed a skin care line to utilize herbs which have multiple and complex antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
To get a nice overview of this all natural skin care line, I tried out a lovely collection that would make a perfect start set – called Colorado Facial.
Colorado Aromatics ~ “Colorado Facial” set
The Colorado Facial is a collection of key Colorado Aromatics products designed specifically to address damage caused by sun, wind, and arid conditions.
Packaged together in a cute vinyl zipper bag (mine came in a nicer bag than is shown in the stock photo above) – at $55.95, you get all four facial care steps for about the same price you’d pay at a department store for just an anti-aging cream. Probably much less.
Here’s a look at what the Colorado Facial includes:
Meadow Mist Oat Cleanser
…with jojoba beads for mild exfoliation.
Packaged in a convenient pump dispenser, this milky cleanser contains extracts of rose, cucumber and mallow.
The Meadow Mist Oat Cleanser doesn’t lather much, but removes makeup thoroughly and cleans your face nicely without stripping its natural oils.
I would prefer a slightly higher concentration of exfoliating beads, but it’s still quite lovely. Has an earthy, woody scent that seems similar to the Springtide AntiAging cream described below. ($13.95, 4 oz.)
Starbright Brightening Mask
…for hydration, exfoliation and to reduce hyper-pigmentation.
You can use the Starbright Brightening Mask mask 1-3 times per week.
Some of the key ingredients include:
- fruit extracts with alpha hydroxy acids to remove the tired, dead skin cells on the surface of your face and neck;
- vitamin B3 for skin rejuvenation and hydration
- licorice as an anti-inflammatory to sooth skin, and decrease and prevent hyperpigmentation
This brightening mask is smooth, beige in color, and is very light. Once applied, it almost doesn’t appear that (or feel like) I have any product on my face. I look forward to using this a few more times and starting to notice the benefits. ($16.95, 2 oz.)
It feels great to follow it up with the next step – the hydrating mist toner.
Lavender Hydrating Mist
…for toning, or as hydration of face, hair, or all over the body.
Also called distillates, hydrosols and hydrolats, these lightly aromatic waters are hand distilled on Colorado Aromatics farm from herbs they grow. Lavender Hydrating Mist comes in a plastic spray bottle and in addition to daily use, it would also be very handy for a quick refresher while traveling.
I had heard of these, but never tried a spray skin toner before. The lavender hydrating mist feels wonderful, and dries quickly… although I’m in an ideal arid climate for its use!
The natural pH of herbal distillates is balanced to help restore the balance in your skin and hair. My Colorado Facial set came with lavender, but you can also get distillates with rose, chocolate mint and lemon balm. ($7.75, 2 oz.)
Springtide Anti-Aging Face Cream
…the name pretty much says it all. Bring on the anti-aging goods, I say!
Springtide Botanical Anti-Aging Cream is formulated to help you look your best while decreasing signs of aging and lines caused by sun exposure and oxidation.
It is thick and rich, with almost the consistency of other “body butters” I have tried. I use this at night, as I think it would be too little heavy for me to use during the day. I enjoy how thoroughly it moisturizes, and like to also use it on the backs of my hands. This has a slightly stronger scent than the other products in the set, with a woody, earthy smell to it.
Contains vitamin C ester, alpha-lipoic acid (as seen in the Perricone Prescription), green tea extract, rosemary, fennel and other botanical antioxidants. ($17.95, 2 oz; or Springtime Gold with added peptides for $24.95, 2 oz.)
Colorado Aromatics
I have really enjoyed using Colorado Aromatics, and recommend trying these all natural skin care products. I love the herbal ingredients, and concept of specifically helping to treat high altitude, outdoor abused skin.
I also feel this quality line of products is very reasonably priced. In the confusing and expensive world of beauty products, it’s refreshing to find makers of authentic products, which combine herbal knowledge with scientific discoveries.
Colorado Aromatics offers face, body, and bath care products. Find them on their website, on Facebook, or on Twitter.

I love being able to find Colorado products that support actual family businesses. Nice feature! While I wish I could say that I don’t need the AntiAging Face Cream, living in Colorado’s harsh environment and being outside all the time makes a good cream a necessity!
Still, everything looks lovely.
Thanks!
