Disney Architecture Morocco

Disney Wordless Wednesday – Transported by Architecture

October 10, 2012COMtnMom

This week’s theme:  Disney Architecture

*o*     *o*     *o*

One of the things I love most about vacationing at Disney, is that if you throw in a whimsical spirit and a little imagination – it truly transports you to other worlds.   The authentic, creative and detailed architecture plays a huge role in doing so.

A few of my favorites…

Disney Architecture Tiki Room

Here I am!  A island dwelling girl living a simple life, eating fresh pineapple and mango daily as I walk along the white sandy shores, taking in the ocean views….

Disney Architecture Italy EPCOT

Ahhh… Italia!  Now I’m strolling through a piazza in my Italian leather shoes, multi purpose scarf, and subtlety superior-in-style European garb.  I smile as the Tuscan sun shines on my neck, and I observe the tourists with amusement.   Then I head a few narrow streets down, off the beaten path to my favorite cafe where I’ll pay only 3 Euro for my espresso, instead of 10…

Disney Architecture Morocco

Now for a tad racier adventure!  The smell of spices wafting through the air…. umm…ok, I really don’t know alot about what it’s like in Morocco.  But if EPCOT is on cue (which I’m sure they are), I’d imagine that I’d be strapping on my belly dancing hip scarf and getting my swerve on to some of that catchy street music.  Stopping at regular intervals for gyro and baklava breaks, of course.

Disney Architecture Castle

And last, but certainly not least – where I truly belong.  A 14th Century Princess in her French countryside castle, my bedroom filled with posh velvet & silk textiles, over-sized gold mirrors, and a gigantic four poster, hand carved wood bed.

What’s your favorite place to be transported by Disney architecture?

I have always enjoyed all of the different architectural styles there. They really seem to have some of everything, don’t they?

You’ve said it so well. (Though you may have some company in that castle… :D)

I think my favorite places are at the resorts – Grand Floridian, Port Orleans (both) and of course the Polynesian. It’s incredible how you can feel like you’re seeing the world in Orlando 🙂

That is what I love about Epcot’s World Showcase, I feel like I’m a world traveler and never have to leave Florida.

What a great post, Tami! I almost felt transported along with you. I want to be in that castle but throw in a gelato and I’ll be in that Italian street. Love that last picture!

Personally, I’ve always imagined myself hanging out in the Indiana Jones area of Adventureland, or somewhere in one of the scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean. Not that I picture myself as an action hero or anything.
By the way, when you finally do get around to visiting Morocco, I’m pretty sure we’d all like to see some video of this dancing and swerving. We’ll be waiting for that post.

Fabulous pics! I love the distinctive architecture at Disney that makes you feel like you are actually in such a wide range of places. We’ve never been to Morocco but Emma loved that pavilion at EPCOT because it reminded her of Turkey – and she picked up a belly dancing hip scarf while we were there so I’m sure that she would be happy to dance with you!
