Makes you want to dive right in, doesn’t it?

Live Life.  Enjoy Color.

Owner Mary Ellen’s believes that color brings positive energy to both yourself and those around you.  On this video below, she expresses, “It’s about making women feel pretty. Making women feel confident.  There’s a coastal mindset behind it… but it’s more than that.”

I love that cheery outlook!  You can’t help but want to see some of these gorgeous colors staring back at you, out of your own closet in the morning.

Fresh Produce has established themselves in a special niche as women’s resort wear, but their clothing would really work for any kind of warm weather fun.  You can shop by print, collection, or clothing type – they have a fantastic selection to choose from.

Fresh Produce Goddess Maxi Dress

Fresh Produce Goddess Maxi DressFor my review, I selected the new arrival Goddess Maxi Dress, to bring along on my Florida vacation.  I could tell from the pictures that it may be slightly low-cut for my taste, but I didn’t care… because it was gorgeous!  An easy thing to work around.

Even without wearing an underneath tank top, this dress is well cut.  It closely follows the lines of your bra straps, leaving them nicely covered.  I love the gathered detail of the fabric, on the shoulder straps.

The material is very soft, and flows nicely.  I read that it was “rayon lycra”, but I wasn’t sure what that would be like?  Once I felt the fabric for myself, I would have guessed that it was some sort of modal cotton with a little bit of stretch added to it.  It was more substantial than I expected; not a thin, slinky type dress at all.

I have already found many occasions to wear this dress, and it lends itself nicely to being worn either casually or semi-formally.  Just alter your shoes and jewelry, and it gives you a different look.  That kind of flexibility in a piece is a great plus when traveling!

The fabric isn’t entirely wrinkle-free (I’m a diehard non-ironer), but any wrinkles seemed to fall out fairly well on their own, once the dress was hung or worn for a bit.

I don’t typically wear dresses, but you just can’t beat the comfort factor.  And even though you find yourself in an easy, extremely comfy outfit… ironically, you look classier than if you were wearing shorts and a top.

As far as Fresh Produce for cruise wear goes, I wore my Goddess Maxi Dress on my very first cruise, and was so happy that I had it along as a wardrobe option.  Although not a formal cruise by any means, I was amazed how many women were wearing casual dresses!  It definitely appeared to be the garment of choice, for pulling on over that swim suit and instantly looking nice enough to head to the dining room, or to just mosy about the ship.

After all my talk of rainbows, you’re probably wondering why I selected such a neutral colored item?  Truth is, it was an incredibly tough choice.  I just couldn’t pass this dress up, in the lovely light brown color called “Desert”.  I saw myself in it, in a number of settings, and I was right… I’m very glad I chose it!

Part of what I love about the Goddess Maxi Dress, is how versatile it is.  The first night I received it, I wore it to a fancy anniversary dinner party.  I then wore it on vacation for everything from strolling on the beach, to playing day time Florida tourist, to a relaxing afternoon and then later semi-formal dining on our cruise ship.

However, I definitely plan on purchasing some of those happy Fresh Produce colored items on on my own, in the future!  Personally I’ve become a big fan of this brand, and I’m excited to have discovered Fresh Produce.

Fresh Produce ~ Garment Dyed Fabric &  Care

All Fresh Produce clothing starts out as white fabric – isn’t that interesting?   Then they garment dye portions into their rainbow of colors, which is unique in the industry.  The result is that each garment has a special, beautiful hue all its own.

One comment regarding laundry care.  I was very excited to learn that that the Goddess Maxi Dress I reviewed, made of 100% lightweight rayon lycra, was machine washable.  Yay!  What a relief.

I will caution you, however, to remove it immediately from both the washer and dryer.  I washed the Goddess Maxi Dress in cold water.  But I was negligent, and after the dryer cycle completed – I left it overnight in the dryer.   Some of the dye from my dress did transfer a few blotches of color to a orange tank top I had included in the load.

I have no idea if this happened in the washer or dryer?  This was the first washing of my dress, and hence probably the most critical.  I don’t think it will become an issue, but wanted to mention it so that you could be sure to launder your beautiful Fresh Produce items with care.

My Fresh Produce dress was also perfect for frolicking on the beach.
