Gift Guide of Best Tech Products
This Fall I’ve been working with Verizon, and testing out several tech devices. Sometimes technology products can literally make our lives easier, increase our personal safety, and support good life habits. And sometimes they’re just FUN!
If you’re in a pinch for a gift idea, take a look at these ideas for all ages. Here’s a gift guide roundup of my family’s favorite tech products.
Fitbit Versa
The Fitbit Versa from Verizon was a real hit with my teenage daughter, and included some surprising features we weren’t expecting. This is an easy to use, highly customizable smart watch. A worrier by nature, she loved the relaxation tool and the option to change the face display.
This cool tech device can also play music, receive notifications, and had quick reply options for calls, events, and texts. Read my full Fitbit Versa review for more photos and detail.
Bose SoundSport Free Earbuds
The deluxe Bose SoundSport Free Earbuds from Verizon would make a fabulous gift, but I’ll warn you that you’ll also want a pair for yourself! These awesome earbuds deliver an amazing rich Bose quality sound. You can adjust the song volume, change tracks, or even access Siri or Google® Assistant™ using the built in dual–microphone.
They stay in your ears securely and comfortably, and come with 3 sizes of ear canal molds you can chose from for a custom fit. Plus you get a protective chase that re-charges them while not in use. Read my full Bose SoundSport Free Earbuds review for more photos and detail.
Google Home Hub
“As soon as you get home from work, dad… I’ll show you how to use The Google!”, my 8 year old son said excitedly over the phone.
Let’s just say my family may like the Google Home Hub a little TOO much?! I confess, I was also pretty much instantly hooked. Which is ironic, since I’ve never really understood what this type of device was for….exactly? I now know the answer to that question. The Google Hub device itself is like a small tablet screen mounted on a nice speaker stand.
What it’s FOR, is for me to ask “Hey Google, show me my pictures from Florida”… to instantly see a filtered-by-location slideshow of my Google vacation photos.
What it’s FOR, is for my teen girl to ask “Hey Google, show me the music video for the Piano Guys Cello Wars”… to watch a super cool Star Wars inspired music mix played on stringed instruments.
What it’s FOR, is for my husband to say from the couch, when he hears the doorbell, “Hey Google, show me the front door camera”… to decide whether to get up, or not. (See next cool tech gift idea below for a nifty security camera that would work for this.)
And lastly, what it’s for, is for my son to ask “Hey Google, show me Matchbook Car Monster Truck videos”… to have him thoroughly entertained while I make supper.
Default view is the local weather forecast and time, with an auto-dimmed display that senses the amount of light in the room. Looks like the Google Home Hub from Verizon is now on sale for $129.99, and I’m convinced it would make an awesome tech gift.
I really love The Google.
Arlo Go Mobile Security Camera
This one’s not quite as frivolous, but is an excellent investment in your home or business security. The Arlo Go Mobile Security Camera from Verizon can wireless connect to the Verizon 4G LTE network to give you updates and footage no matter where you are. You don’t even need to connect to Wi-Fi for it to work.
This night vision security camera can be used either indoors or outdoors, and is weatherproof and dust resistant. Auto recordings are captured, and you receive a notification of activity on your phone. You can even engage the two-way audio to listen in or even talk to those seen on the screen. Subscription plans include saving images and video footage from your camera in the cloud, so you have no need for storage tapes or devices.
If you travel and are away from home, this is a fantastic idea to implement in further protection of your home. Also a great gift idea for a traveler, or family member who could use some additional security.
