Glenwood Hot Springs to Add New Water Attraction
Hot off the presses! Glenwood Hot Springs, situated along Colorado’s I-70 in Glenwood Springs, has just announced plans to add a new major water attraction. This makes sense, as in recent years they’ve received more Colorado-area competition in the hot springs arena.
My family loves visiting Colorado’s natural hot springs pools! This may be a much needed refresh for the Glenwood facility. I know Ouray, CO, just completed their hot springs pool renovation. Despite some hiccups (they’re having trouble keeping thermal temps high enough in winter – osh no!)… overall, it’s a really nice improvement. Take a look at the press release details on what they have planned for Glenwood Hot Springs Pool.
Glenwood Hot Springs New Water Attraction
The world’s largest hot springs pool is getting a large-scale makeover that will update and transform the look of the premier geothermal resort. Glenwood Hot Springs Resort recently announced its plans for an extensive, multi-million-dollar renovation to the west end of its property.
The resort will begin adding new aquatic features, replacing the existing water slides, kiddie pool and miniature golf course with an all-new updated and integrated water park.
The main attraction will be an Adventure River. It will feature plenty of twists, turns and refreshing surprises along the way, lasting a little over three minutes in duration.
The new Adventure River attraction is a novelty among geothermal destinations. It will offer visitors a high-quality theme park ride experience at a hot springs resort. Riders will get the sense that they are floating down a mountain creek in Colorado—complete with lush landscaping, cascading tiers and boulder features.
In addition to the Adventure River, there will be a children’s play area. Youngsters can enjoy mini water slides, interactive water features, and shallow play areas, plus have shade structures for sun protection.
Included in the plans is a water feature that acts as a kid-friendly splash pad by day. After the children’s area closes for the night, it becomes a lighted fountain that can be seen by even when strolling across the Glenwood pedestrian bridge.
Sounds great to me! No word on construction time frame yet.
