iCoffee Single Serve OPUS Brewer Review
I adore coffee. If you ask me, it’s one of the best things in life, and I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a coffee snob. I prefer my finely ground, high-quality coffee beans prepared into a fresh, hot brew. Being quite happy with the results, I’d like to share with you my recent experience in performing an iCoffee Single Serve OPUS Brewer Review.
iCoffee has developed an exciting concept they’ve incorporated into this new single serve machine, using a method that’s not been done before: SpinBrew™ technology. The results are the freshest possible cup of coffee (or other hot beverage of your choice… the K-Cup options are endless!), with a smooth and delicious flavor and zero bitter aftertaste.
Here’s a little about why I really like the iCoffee Single Serve OPUS Brewer.
iCoffee Single Serve OPUS Brewer Review
iCoffee Single Serve is the first single-serve machine to use SpinBrew™ technology, which releases the locked-in flavors of coffee while eliminating bitterness and acidity. This delivers a surprisingly smooth tasting beverage from a single-serve brewer. It can brew 4-12 ounces in less than one minute, and is compatible with all k-type cups.
First, turn the dial to select how many ounces you’d like to brew (love that option!). Next, add either a k-cup of choice, or fill the included reusable basket with your coffee grounds (love that option!). Place your coffee cup or travel mug underneath – it fits just about any size or shape (love that option!). Are you sensing a theme…?
But what’s the unique secret to the resulting great taste? Once loaded and ready to go, press “Start” and the OPUS begins to use a magical combination of spinning and steam… extracting optimal flavor into your fresh cuppa coffee! Yum. This iCoffee patented SpinBrew™ technology works likka champ, if I do say so myself.
Best Features of the iCoffee Single Serve OPUS Brewer:
- You can use ANY K-type cups, including K-Cup®, RealCup™, OneCup™ and all private label cups. (I’m sorry, but I think it’s obnoxious that some brewers only allow brewing their approved style of cups).
- You can use your own coffee grounds. This is a fantastic, flexible, and more affordable option
- Smooth, hot, fresh tasting coffee within seconds of decided you’d like (or need) a cup of coffee. The instant gratification factor is marvelous; and the quality is much, much better than that pot of coffee brewed 2 hrs or so ago…
- Quick & easy to use.
- Other hot beverage options. My kids love making hot chocolate with our iCoffee OPUS.
- SafetyLock standard feature on the OPUS. iCoffee is the first single serve brewing system on the market to include this kind of patent-pending safety device, which locks the brew head, and helps protect consumers against burn-related injuries
- Attractive design, and cool blue accent light that glows during brewing (my favorite color! Thanks, iCoffee.) Very eye catching addition to our kitchen counter.
- They’ve won sensory taste tests over Keurig, with tasters greatly preferring the aroma and aftertaste of OPUS.
- Any sized mug fits! This is well thought out, and a much appreciated feature. Heading to work, and want a travel mug size to take along? The cup platform easily slides out, so you can brew directly into your taller mug. Brilliant! (Granted, the coffee will be a little weaker when brewing the max quantity of 12 ounces… but it’s great to have this quick option when you’re late and rushing out the door.)
Friends who’ve owned single serve brewers made by that other company (I won’t mention any brands, you know who they are) have told me they’ve experienced many technical issues and break-downs. I consider those repeated warnings as another point for the OPUS. After 2 months of daily use I’ve not experienced any problems, and I’m looking forward to using it for years to come.
Between my positive experience with the iCoffee Single Serve OPUS Brewer, plus the increased flexibility and superior brewing technology over other brands: I highly recommend this machine to anyone in the market for a single serve brewer.

I received a iCoffee Single Serve OPUS brewer at no cost, for the purposes of performing this review. All opinions are my own.
