You’ll Love This If You Own Multiple Indoor Pets

May 29, 2019COMtnMom

Is owning two cats really THAT much different than owning one?” we debated, captivated by the adorable black and white kitten available for adoption at our local shelter. [Patches, shown above.  Now a full grown, sassy brat.] “Well, Daisy is getting up there in years… and they say to get a puppy and let your old dog train the new one.” Does any of this sound familiar?  Greetings, fellow member of the Crazy Person Multiple Indoor Pet Owner Club!

Near as I can tell, these were the two pivotal moments in recent years that led up to us currently owning 2 dogs and 2 cats.  All living inside my house.  SHEDDING.  (And doing other, even more gross, things.)  *Sigh*

Indoor Pets Kinda Trash Your House, Bless ’em

Aaah, but we are animal lovers.  And my family really enjoys having indoor pets.  So I wouldn’t have it any other way.

But pets can take a heavy toll on your home.  It’s true I’ve lost the battle with chewed up cherished toys, and shredded couch corners.  But I’ve conquered the pet hair in the carpet issue!  Woo hoo!

Most people own a vacuum cleaner.  But do you have an AMAZING vacuum cleaner?  Because it makes an astounding difference.  I say this because for years I owned a mediocre vacuum, and really had no idea that a better quality unit would perform at such a higher level.

Now that I’ve tried a “next level” vacuum cleaner, I have to recommend this for sucking up dog and cat hair in a seriously impressive fashion.  I was so happy at how this works, and leaves my carpets better than they have looked in years.

Zero G Weightless Vac Has Amazing Suction

Zero G Weightless Vac unit review

Zero G sent me a test unit to try out their “weightless” vacuum cleaner.  For starters, the claim to fame with the Zero G Weightless Vac is that it hoovers above the ground.

SPOILER ALERT:  You can’t really visually see it hovering.  Much to the chagrin of my 8 year old son, who was anticipating this to be an impressive, Star Wars-style display of hovering a foot or so off the ground.  But you can feel the effect, and I see why they call it weightless.

This is already a small and compact unit, which is nice.  Plus this design makes it really easy to maneuver and pull behind you on carpet, and even more so on wood laminate or tile flooring.

It comes with high quality, horsehair brush accessories.  These work perfectly for furniture or bedspreads.  Just in case you have a dog who sits in your wing chair like a human.  Or a lazy cat who loves napping on your expensive new duvet cover.

But what sells me the most is the mind-blowing, high power suction of this vacuum.  You can HEAR it pulling out all the dinge.  Using the Zero G vacuum the first time in my house was almost comically loud… especially in the vicinity of our cat litter box.

They ask you to try a comparison test of vacuuming your entire home with your current vacuum first.  Then vacuuming again with the Zero G, with a clean empty bag.  Here was my result.  This is what my old vacuum left behind.

Zero G bag of pet hair

Goodbye, all that nasty pet hair!

Bags fill up quickly, but Zero G replacement bag refills are affordable and available online with free shipping.  You can purchase a 6-pack of 3-ply paper bags for $11.99.  They also offer other allergy and bacterial-filtering bag options.

My only complaint was there is no retractable storage of the cord, but that is fairly minor.  What you gain is a very small unit, that is easy to store.

Zero G Weightless Vac review

Your Zero G weightless vac comes as a bundle with multiple accessories including two wand options, a Stair Pro attachment (we live in a ranch style home, so didn’t test this), and a mesh bag to store them all.

I’ve only had the Zero G for two months now, but we’ve had no issues and are very excited at how well it’s working to clean our multiple pet home!

I received a Zero G weightless vac at no cost, for the purposes of this review.  All opinions are my own.

It looks like a Tristar and an old Hoover Constellation got together in the closet and produced a love child. Ok kids, you have to be a codger to know what a Connie is. 1960s vintage stuff. I’ve read good things about them from other sources so I am interested. My one hold back is the floating part. Old Hoover Constellations floated too, they were the first floating vacuum with early versions of the Celebrity also floating before reverting back to wheels, and they whipsawed back and fourth as you worked the hose. They never stood still and were forever bumping into things. I worry these will behave the same.

Thanks for swinging by, and for your comment! I wanted to reply right away… because we still love and use this vaccuum almost daily. I had purchased a really nice Miele right before we got this one – and we never use the Miele, because this one works so well and is so easy to use. I’ve never seen it whipsaw as you describe. Maybe because the ‘hoover’ height/behavior is very subtle. It isn’t really even enough to notice it by looking at it – it just seems to make it really easy to pull behind you.

Two thumbs up from me. 🙂 Have a great day!

      Tami
