Sardinia

Popular with those that live in Europe, it’s a step away from places like Spain and Portugal, which are known for their package deals. So, you know it won’t be too overrun by tourists. With great amenities, such as markets, restaurants and bars, you’ll be able to soak up the local culture while the children go snorkeling in the clear waters and enjoy the many, many kids’ clubs.

Can’t decide when to visit? Well, you’re in luck, as Sardinia is the type of destination you can visit year-round thanks to the excellent weather. However, the summer time, between June and September are the months where you’ll see the weather at its very best.

Thailand

Don’t fancy Europe? Then how about heading to Southeast Asia, particularly Phuket in Thailand.

You may have read about, you may have heard that Thailand is particularly popular with young tourists – but it’s also great for families. From palm tree lined beaches to jungles and forests, there’s plenty of stunning scenery to see and explore, plus the food here is to die for. Enjoy snorkelling, head to a water park or try the Phuket Aquarium or even ride an elephant. Either way, this is a place the kids will never forget.

Mid-year, between June and September, is when you’ll encounter monsoon season, it’s best not to visit at this time. This way, you’ll hopefully avoid the rain and enjoy blissful sun at every opportunity.

Mauritius

Sitting serenely in the Indian Ocean just off the southeast coast of Africa is the simply utopian island of Mauritius.

Offering up peace and beauty all in one go, it’s one of the most family friendly destinations you could visit. Filled with resorts just waiting to pamper you, most of the have kid’s clubs to keep the little ones entertained, and many have creche facilities for the smaller children.

A large island, depending on what part you visit, the time of year you go will also change. January to March is cyclone season, while the east coast can get very windy from July to August, while May to December is the best time for the sunny weather.
