Premier Protein ~ Bars & Shakes
Premier Protein offers energy on the go, no matter what your activity plan is. For over a decade, they have made shakes and bars that not only deliver high levels of protein, but do so without extra calories, fat, or sugar.
When Would You Use Premier Protein?
Are you headed to the gym, or maybe out for a hike? Premier Protein bars are a quick and convenient way to get your body ready to pull through with the energy you will need.
According to Bodybuilding.com, drinking protein shakes before exercising is important for those who are looking to build muscle. Muscles are made up primarily of protein, and taking a protein shake before work helps provide your body with the protein it needs to become stronger and build muscle.
A protein shake or bar can also be used as a meal replacement. Protein shakes are one of the most convenient ways to meet your nutritional needs when finding time to eat a regular meal is not feasible.
As such, they would make an easy option to have along when camping, or maybe on a full day hike.
Both the bars and shakes both contain 30 grams of protein. As a reference point, the nutritional label on the packaging puts this at an estimated 60% of your daily protein needs.
Premier Protein Bars – 12 bars/box for $23.88
Not consuming enough lean protein in your diet? Well, this beats carrying a grill and chicken breasts wherever you go, right?
Premier Protein Bars are available in three flavors: Chocolate Peanut Butter, Double Chocolate Crunch, and Yogurt Peanut Butter Crunch.
- 30g Protein
- 0g Trans Fat
- 0g Hydrogenated Oils
- 0g High Fructose Corn Syrup
- 280 Calories
If you have never tried a protein bar, they are different than a more carb-based energy bar. They have some heft to them! You’ll definitely want to drink some water along with it.
Personally, I do think I see better performance and feel my endurance last longer when I have consumed a protein bar about ½ hour before heading to the gym. Although eating a half of a bar at a time is usually sufficient for me, then I just save the other half for my next workout.
When my husband goes to the gym, he lifts weights (more so than myself). And he is an advocate for having either a protein bar or shake before doing so.
My favorite flavor of the three? Double Chocolate Crunch!
Premier Protein Shakes – 18 pack case for $28.79, 4 pack case for $7.99
Is a shake easier for you to grab and go? The Premier Protein Shakes are a great option and are nutrient rich, plus an excellent source of Calcium. They also deliver that same amount of protein as the bars (30 grams) but at a lower calorie count.
Available in Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry.
- 30g Protein
- 160 Calories
- 1g Sugar
- Low Fat
We tried the Chocolate and Vanilla shakes. My husband and I were split on this one – his favorite shake flavor was chocolate, and mine (surprisingly) was vanilla.
Where Can You Buy Premier Protein?
Premier Protein products are available online, or in stores at Costco and Sam’s Club.
