Raise A Wild Child

March 28, 2015COMtnMom

Are you raising a wild child?  I hope I am.  If it’s a wild child that has learned to enjoy being outdoors, and exploring all that nature has to offer… I hope that describes both my son and daughter.  That’s why I thought this was a great message, so wanted to share this cool book and #RaiseAWildChild photo contest with you.

Dr. Scott Sampson, a scientist, museum executive and Denver-based author of the book How To Raise a Wild Child is spearheading a widespread, concerted effort to reconnect children with nature and inspire nature mentors.  (Hey, hey… this is Dr. Scott the Paleontologist, of Dinosaur Train fame!)

Dr. Scott has come up with this awesome Nature Challenge:  Get your wild child to play outside 3 times per week, for 30 minutes at a time.

They are asking outdoor lovers to upload pictures of their “wild child” enjoying nature with the hashtag #raiseawildchild to Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram for a chance to win a signed copies of Scott’s new book (How To Raise a Wild Child) and other prizes.

So join this great movement, check out the Raise A Wild Child website, and post your fun photos of your wild child enjoying nature!
