OXO – Good Cookie Spatula

December 6, 2011COMtnMom
I’m very excited to be hosting my very first giveaway, with OXO!
But this review isn’t going to be so much about the Good Cookie Spatula, it’s going to be about the amazing thing that OXO is up to … and why.

Did you know that OXO has less than 70 employees?  They describe themselves as a big family.  But it gets even more heartwarming …
OXO is on a mission to help fund pediatric cancer research through their “Cookies for Kids’ Cancer” campaign.  Why?
They were inspired to do so when two of their employees, Gretchen and Larry Witt’s son Liam found himself in a battle with cancer.  The news of Liam’s diagnosis hit the OXO family hard, and this is why they are now determined to “bake a difference”!
How You Can Help
The purchase of every Limited Edition Cookie Spatula helps OXO support Cookies for Kids’ Cancer – 50% of the profits benefit pediatric cancer awareness, up to $100,000!  To purchase, visit your nearest Bed Bath & Beyond or www.amazon.com (I searched and found it for only $6.99), or you can check the store locator at www.oxogoodcookies.com to find a local retailer.
The giveaway prize!
You can also join OXO in the movement by three additional ideas (think Bake Sale!) which you can personally participate in, to help raise funds for this worthy cause.  They will match these efforts as well – see www.oxogoodcookies.com until Dec 31st for details.
The Cutest Little Spatula Ever
When I first opened the package and saw the spatula, I exclaimed “It’s tiny!”  Well, it’s not exactly tiny, per say, but it’s not the full sized pancake-flippin’ kinda spatula that I envisioned.  Which is what makes it so fantastic!
I have only had one other, smallish type serving/cookie spatula before, and they are absolutely perfect for the job.  You know how you try to fit cookies somewhat close together on a cookie sheet to bake, then it’s somewhat of a trick fitting the spatula between them to carefully lift one at a time?  Yeah.  That’s what I’m talking about.  Enter your new favorite OXO “be a good cookie” spatula!
Maneuvers really well.  Has a great, flexible feel to it – different from metal spatulas.
Purchasing one of these adorable, trendy lime green spatulas is a win/win!  OXO’s products are of notoriously high quality – they are known for their “good grip” handle technology.  Believe me when I tell you … if you haven’t tried it before, it’s Love at First Grip!
And you can go to bed at night with the realization that 50% of that profit went right to pediatric cancer research.  Good job, you.  Good job, OXO.
Here is the recipe for the cookies we made.  They were very tasty!  Hershey’s HEATH bits Peanut Butter Cookies
Look – it’s exactly the size of the cookie!  Perfect.

very cool, I have metal spatulas that are small, but I would love a little green one that also helps the fight that we are so passionate about.
